Our Commitment

The Art of Living Matrimony, is a matrimony platform built exclusively for adults seeking marriage or matrimonial alliance. We do not target or knowingly allow persons below the age of 18 years to use our services. We have a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of child sexual abuse, exploitation, or endangerment (CSAE), and toward any use of our platform by, or targeting, anyone below the age of 18.

We do not permit minors to register on or use The Art of Living Matrimony under any circumstances, and we actively work to detect, prevent, report, and remove any such attempt, along with any content or conduct that endangers children.

This policy explains our commitment to protecting children and minors from harm, exploitation, and exposure to inappropriate content.

Who Can Use This Platform

  • Registration is strictly limited to individuals who are **18 years of age or older**.
  • Every user must confirm their date of birth at the time of registration and may be asked to verify this using a government-issued identity document.
  • We use a combination of self-declaration, document verification, and automated checks to identify and block suspected underage users.
  • Any account found or suspected to belong to a person under 18 is suspended immediately, pending verification, and permanently removed if confirmed.
  • We do not knowingly collect, use, or store personal data belonging to anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have done so, we delete it without delay.

What We Do Not Allow

We do not allow any user, on or through our platform, to:

  • Create a profile misrepresenting their age to appear as, or gain access as, an adult when they are not.
  • Upload, share, request, transmit, or link to any content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers a child in any way or describes sexual activity involving minors.
  • Use language, images, or behaviour that sexualises, objectifies, or exploits children.
  • Use the platform to contact, groom, solicit, or attempt to establish any inappropriate contact with a minor.
  • Use our messaging, photos, or any other feature to distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form.
  • Encourage or facilitate any act that may harm a child physically, emotionally, or sexually. Any violation results in immediate account suspension, permanent removal from the platform, and a report to the appropriate authorities as described below.

You do not need to have an account with us to report a concern.

How We Work to Prevent Harm

  • Our Trust & Safety team reviews reported content and accounts on a priority basis.
  • We use human review to detect content or behaviour that may indicate a child safety risk.
  • Staff handling child safety reports are trained to recognise and appropriately escalate CSAE-related concerns.
  • We preserve relevant account and content data connected to a child safety report, as required, to support law enforcement investigations.
  • We do not permit the platform to be used by anyone we identify as being under 18, regardless of how they represent themselves.

While no system is perfect, we continuously improve our measures to prevent child safety violations.

Cooperation with Law Enforcement and Authorities

We cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies, courts, and government authorities on matters relating to child safety. Where required or appropriate, we:

  • Report suspected CSAM or child endangerment to the **National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal** (cybercrime.gov.in) and/or local police authorities.
  • Preserve relevant data and provide it to law enforcement in response to a valid legal request.
  • Cooperate with the **National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR)** and other competent authorities as required.

Legal Framework

Our child safety practices are designed to comply with applicable Indian law, including:

  • The **Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012** which criminalises use of children for pornographic purposes and other sexual offences including sexual activity involving minors. Requires reporting of child sexual abuse material and related offences.
  • The **Information Technology Act, 2000**, including provisions relating to child sexual abuse material which prohibit publishing or transmitting child sexual abuse material online. Requires online intermediaries to remove unlawful content and cooperate with authorities. Provides the legal basis for takedown of illegal content and action against offenders.
  • The **Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021** which requires intermediaries to prevent and remove unlawful content and maintain a grievance redressal mechanism. Sets out due diligence obligations for online intermediaries.
  • The **Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015** which provides a comprehensive framework for the care, protection, and rehabilitation of children in need of care and protection, and children in conflict with law. Defines offences against children and lays down procedures for handling such cases. It emphasises the best interests of the child and mandates reporting and protection measures for children at risk.
  • The **Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023**, including its specific protections for children's personal data which regulates the processing of digital personal data, including specific protections for children’s data. Requires consent from parents or guardians for processing personal data of children. Prohibits tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising directed at children in certain contexts. It imposes obligations on data fiduciaries to ensure the safety and privacy of children online.
  • The **Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006** which prohibits the solemnisation of child marriages, where a “child” is defined as a male under 21 years and a female under 18 years. Makes child marriages voidable at the option of the party who was a child at the time of marriage. Provides for punishment of those who perform, arrange, or promote child marriages. It supports the objective that matrimonial platforms must not facilitate or encourage marriages involving minors.
  • Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC) and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (as applicable) which contains provisions criminalising offences such as kidnapping, abduction, trafficking, and sexual exploitation of children.
  • Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986 (as relevant) which prohibits indecent representation of women in any form, including online content. It supports removal of content that is obscene or harmful, including content that may indirectly affect child safety.

We cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory agencies in India and other relevant jurisdictions in matters involving child safety.
